Dear God’s Resort Friends,

Thank you for partnering with us as we help people through this Christ-centered community choose freedom from their past and reach their potential as children of God! May God bless you as you bless so many!!

Psalms 68:6 says, “God sets the lonely in families….” That is certainly what He has done for Jillian! We met Jillian when she was 9 years old, on the day her daddy, John, committed suicide. We comforted her family the best we could and helped them clean up the result of such a tragedy. However, the painful impact of that day was just beginning. As her mother struggled with her own grief and addictions, Jillian and her three siblings were left to navigate their sorrow and loneliness. She really was alone. Jillian struggled with her own addictions and the accompanying fall-out of lost and broken relationships – having two little boys still in her teen years. Someone told her about God’s Resort, and since we hadn’t seen her since she was a little girl, she recognized us first. What a sweet day that was! God had brought her full circle back into our lives! God’s love has restored so much of what has been stolen from her in this evil world! Jillian says, “God has been the Father I’ve always desired. He is loving, gentle, and the provider of everything in my life.” She is raising her little boys with the love she always wanted.

Jillian is spiraling up as a woman of God, friend, sister, and mother! He has blessed her with a wonderful job as a teaching assistant at a school and she saved money to buy her own car debt free!! She attends and serves faithfully at James River Church and is a vital part of the community here at God’s Resort! “God’s Resort truly is what God has used to love me through every stage of maturity that I have needed. I don’t think I would have a relationship with Jesus like I do if God’s Resort hadn’t given me grace, love, and support. I have learned what God is like here!”

Thank you for partnering with God as he placed Jillian and her boys in a home in this family at God’s Resort!!! He’s setting the lonely in families! Your gifts, prayers, and love make such miracles possible!

Annual Galentine’s Luncheon

Some of our ladies at God’s Resort, along with some wonderful guests and volunteers, enjoyed our annual Galantine’s Luncheon on Saturday, February 11. The theme this year was “We love because He first loved us” (1 John 4:19). In addition to the meal and décor, there was a sweet time of sharing. Thank you to all who participated and helped make this possible!

Staging Supplies Needed

We’re in need of various supplies to help us stage apartments for new residents. Items can be dropped off at God’s Resort (1501 S. Pearl, Joplin) during office hours (M-Th, 9-4, Fri, 9-noon – closed M-Th 12-1 for lunch). Thank you for any help you can provide in this area!
