June 2024

Dear Friends of God’s Resort,

We are forever grateful for your partnership in helping people in this Christ-centered community, choose freedom from the past and reach their potential as children of God! God bless you!!!

Allen was the youngest child of five kids. When he was 5 years old his dad left the family and he was raised by his mom, who worked hard to raise them alone. He dropped out of high school and soon began to hang out with a bad crowd and started using drugs and drinking. This is when he met his girls’ mother. His drug abuse progressed over time until he overdosed on fentanyl and was hospitalized.

His mom had always told him that God was watching over him. He disregarded her words until he crashed both his cars and survived. It wasn’t long before he found himself in jail and he lost custody of his daughters. His world shattered. In jail he started reading a Bible and gave his heart to Jesus! He went into a recovery ministry, graduated, and then God brought him to God’s Resort.

God has been healing his shattered world! Allen has custody of his little girls, Amore and Isabella, and works hard to provide for them. We call him the “Gentle Giant.” He is a great Daddy and a great addition to the community here! His girls were able to go to their first week of Bible camp this past month with Kyleigh and some other kids from God’s Resort! Allen says, “God’s Resort has helped me realize I’m not alone, I truly feel like I am a part of another family. The Spirit of God is definitely here. I feel Him, and He has helped me rearrange my life to become a better person and helped me grow closer with Him. I was always embarrassed to reach out for help, but the second I stepped through the doors, I was never judged once. I have only been encouraged and comforted. Even my girls are getting the benefit of a personal mentor through Kyleigh to help them succeed and get closer to God.”

Thank you for making it possible for people to walk through these doors to find a new life! For Allen and his girls, I thank you!

Love and prayers,

Jay St. Clair
Executive Director

The family of Jay and Julie invite you to join them as they honor them and celebrate 40 years of ministry! They would be delighted to have you there!

Cookout and Camps Season!

God’s Resort offers weekly programs and bi-weekly individual life transition coordination for our residents. In addition to that, we also have various events that we do periodically including parenting and relationship seminars, and financial peace courses. This month, Kyleigh, our Next Gen Coordinator, took several kids to camp through partnership with a local church (Hope City Church) and the St. Clairs hosted a cookout! The cookout was a great time for staff, volunteers, and residents to connect, play together, and enjoy some great food!

Regarding the camps, God did some amazing things! Worship, prayer, and study of the Word, along with great conversations took place; and one young man came back sharing that he wants to get baptized! Not only is the fruit of camp season yielded at camp, but it also often bears fruit in the weeks, months, and years that follow. We’re excited to see what God does! Thank you for your partnership through serving, praying, and giving! We couldn’t do what we do without your support! Volunteer
