I knew God and Jesus existed and as I lookback, I can see that He was with me all through my addiction, but I was running away from Him. I stopped running and got down on my knees and prayed, “God, I have to have your help now!! I need you!! I can’t do this by myself!” I now have an intimate relationship with Jesus, and I am back in the church, and my little girl is learning how to have a relationship with Jesus herself! This is our community and place to not isolate but to heal. We are connected to people who love me and my daughter and lead us spiritually.
I can’t live without Jesus! He is the definition in my life of everything! The love and grace I have received along with the accountability has led me to repent of all my sins and become a new man! God’s Resort has helped me and my girls grow together. I am learning that I am not just their father, I am learning to be a real Daddy, like the Lord is to me!
Because of generational sin and curses, I was in so much hurt and trouble, that from age 12 to age 17 I was in the state’s custody … I didn’t care to live, and I couldn’t stop my addictions because I needed to stay numb to deal with my past. I knew death was my only way out. I really didn’t believe that I was worth saving. God’s Resort is my community of healing that has helped me grow deeper into Jesus. This community is what I needed because I am surrounded by people who think like I do and want what I want. It is my place of refuge that has helped me stay accountable to stay straight and meet my goals with God’s help. I don’t know how it will happen, but I want to be in street ministry in this area because this is where I got messed up and this is where I found Jesus. I want to save the people who have given up on life like I once had! God will show me how.
God’s Resort has helped me by giving me a community where I can find the stability and connection with people and God I have never had. Putting God first, I have a firm foundation to build my life. If you take advantage of all that God’s Resort has to offer, you can become the person you never were.
Jesus is everything to me. He saved my life! God’s Resort is my safe place. I have learned stability to become a stable husband, father, and man of God who has hope for my future for the first time in my life.My goal is to have a management position and someday to own my own HVAC company.
