Volunteer Needs & Roles
- Morning Support HostDaily | 6:00–9:00 AM
- Offer supportive presence as residents begin their day.
- Engage in encouraging morning conversations.
- Lead or participate in the daily group devotional.
- Provide transportation as needed.
- Daytime Support HostDaily | 11:00 AM–2:00 PM
- Be available for connection through conversations, walks, games, or other relationship-building activities.
- Provide transportation as needed.
- Evening Support HostDaily | 4:30–7:30 PM
- Engage residents in meaningful conversations and relationship-building activities.
- Provide transportation as needed.
- Help teach practical skills such as cooking and cleaning.
- Model and encourage healthy conversation and proper etiquette during dinner
- Overnight RAAs Needed | 9:30 PM–6:30 AM
- Provide on-site supervision and support for residents during the night.
- Be available for emergencies or resident needs as they arise.
- Maintain a safe, calm, and welcoming environment.
- Fill in for the full-time RA when necessary
- Grocery ShopperWeekly | Flexible Timing
- Shop for groceries based on a prepared list or household needs.
- Deliver groceries to the home and help organize items in the kitchen and pantry.
- Communicate any supply needs or shortages to the staff.
- Office VolunteerWeekdays | 8 AM–12 PM
- Contribute to an organized and welcoming office environment.
- Support staff with phone calls and general office duties.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as printing, filing, preparing materials for classes and/or events
- Bible Study Facilitator
- Guide residents through Scripture, helping them study, understand, and apply God’s Word.
- Encourage spiritual growth and discernment through prayer and discussion.
- Shepherd / Instructor Roles
- Teach or assist in one or more of the following life-skill areas:
- Cooking & Nutrition: Meal planning, grocery shopping, food safety, and basic cooking techniques.
- Health & Hygiene: Personal care, wellness habits, and healthy routines.
- Home Management: Cleaning, organizing, and maintaining a welcoming environment.
- Financial Management: Budgeting, saving, credit basics, taxes, and stewardship principles.
- Time Management: Planning, prioritizing, and establishing daily rhythms.
- Transportation Skills: Driving basics, trip planning, and using public transit.
- Grounding Practices: Prayer, deep breathing, stretching, and other calming strategies.
- Job Readiness: Resume building, interview preparation, and professional presentation.
- Communication Skills: Active listening, healthy conflict resolution, and expressing needs and feelings.
- Team Building: Encouraging collaboration, respect, and unity.
- Teach or assist in one or more of the following life-skill areas:
- Holiday Host
- Host residents in your home or at The Well for special holiday gatherings that create positive memories.
- Bring a meal or prepare one together with the residents.
- Mentor
- Provide life-on-life discipleship through an ongoing, weekly relationship with a paired resident.
- Welcome residents into your home and family rhythms.
- Support them through outings, shared activities, prayer, and everyday challenges.
- Transportation Host
- Provide individual rides to appointments, interviews, errands, and other commitments using your personal vehicle.
- Transport small groups to scheduled programming or special events using The Well van.
As you can see, it really takes a whole community investing in these women for real transformation to happen. God uses people—ordinary, everyday people—to change lives. Our volunteers bring hope, stability, and the love of Christ into daily moments that matter. Your presence truly makes a difference!
